Hair Loss Procedures

A hair transplant is an outpatient procedure all performed under local anaesthetic. Genetically strong and permanent hair is selected from the back of the scalp and relocated to the area affected by thinning.

The two types of hair transplant we offer are Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT). The only difference between the two techniques is how the hairs are harvested from the donor area.

During a Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) procedure, the hairs are harvested individually one by one using a small blunt punch, and are then implanted into the recipient area one by one as show below in the video:

During a Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) procedure, a thin strip of tissue is removed from the donor area containing all the hairs. Individual hairs are then separated from the strip tissue and are implanted one by one into the recipient area as shown in the client video below:

The method of implanting each hair is the exact same for both the FUE and FUT technique. Only the harvesting technique to obtain the hairs differs. FUT or FUE hair transplant techniques can be used to perform a hair transplant, beard transplant, body hair transplant or eyebrow transplant.
